In Celebration! Looking-Glass River

  • Friday 6th December 2019, 7:30pm

There’s a special treat in store at The Fan Museum this Christmas when we host the showcase performance of Wayne Adrian Drew’s new play, Looking-Glass River is set in late December, too, but in far more tropical surroundings – the South Pacific, in fact!

Robert Louis Stevenson was a genius as complex as his character Jekyll & Hyde and he lived an adventurous life that literally spanned the globe. This ambitious new one-man play tells of his last days on the island of Samoa. There he recalls his youth, how he came to write his most popular works, his famous contemporaries, and the joys and heartbreaks of love.

The Orangery of The Fan Museum will be transformed into Stevenson’s tropical island home to bring to life its sounds, colours and perfumes, for this special immersive production, featuring Richard Holliss as the great man himself. It runs approximately 90 minutes (plus a 20 minute interval).

Doors open at 6:30pm and the performance starts promptly at 7:30pm.

This play is more suitable for adult audiences and early booking is essential as similar productions at The Fan Museum has sold out many weeks in advance.

Tickets: £15.00*

Includes light refreshments and a chance to view the Museum’s displays.
