The Fan Museum’s 2016 ‘In Celebration!’ programme springs into life on Monday 15 February with an intriguing blend of opera & fan etiquette…Gifted Soprano, Sarah Minns performs arias from a selection of well-loved operas including Carmen & Madame Butterfly.
Accompanying each of the arias, The Fan Museum’s Director, Hélène Alexander offers amusing insights and guidance on the correct way to handle fans according to period, place and context.
Sarah Minns started her operatic career at 18 years old playing the role of Verity in the world premiere of Jago by Mike Westbrook (broadcast on BBC Radio 3). Sarah has worked with many of the national opera companies including Opera North, Opera Holland Park, Grange Park Opera & Welsh National Opera. She trained at the Royal Academy of Music and at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. During her time in Cardiff, Sarah held a vocal scholarship with the BBC and sang with Welsh National Youth Opera.
Tickets include admission to the Museum’s 25th anniversary exhibition, Treasures of The Fan Museum, as well as post performance refreshments. Please note that all ‘In Celebration!’ events are subject to advance booking and are likely to sell out. With this in mind, you are advised to purchase tickets ASAP.
